Hello OCRS families,
September is almost over and October is upon us! This is the 6th week of school and we're getting to the point where the routines of the school year have been well established and classrooms are moving into more of the academic work.
Important Information
Fire Safety Assembly
This Wednesday morning, members of the Smithfield Fire Department will be visiting Old County Road School to speak with our students about fire safety. Students will have an opportunity to ask questions and, weather permitting, get a close up look at some of the apparatus that Smithfield fire fighters use in their important work.
Morning drop-off and afternoon pickup
Just a reminder to families that morning drop-off begins at 7:55 a.m. and ends at 8:15 a.m. After 8:15 a.m., all students and their families will be directed to the main office to check-in. Please do not enter the driveway in front of the school during morning drop-off because it is used by the buses and creates a safety hazard.
During afternoon pickup, do not enter the driveway in front of the school because it is used by the buses. All cars should enter and exit the parking lot on the right side of the school. We are fortunate to have a wonderful playground at OCRS and we welcome families to use that playground after school. However, for the safety of all of our students, please do not drive behind the school to park at the playground or walk through the buses to the playground until all of the buses have left the school. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
Flu Clinic Information
Has your child gotten their flu shot? A reminder that there will be a flu clinic held at Old County Road School on Wednesday, October 9th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Your child can get vaccinated at this clinic at no out-of-pocket cost.
