Hello OCRS families,
December is upon us and winter is not far behind! Just a reminder that we will be outside for morning arrival and recess if the "feels like"/wind chill temperature is above 20 degrees, so it's important for each student to have clothes to play outside even if it's cold. If any family needs some assistance in getting winter clothing for their child, please let Mr. Barrette know and we will work to connect you with the right resources.
Quick Student Attendance Update
In our first full week back after the Thanksgiving Break we did not have any classrooms with perfect attendance this week. Our school remains steady at 12% of the overall students being categorized as chronically absent. We will all continue our efforts to make sure that students are at school on time, every day (unless they are ill).
Picture Retake Information
Lifetouch is scheduled to be at OCRS for picture retakes on Wednesday, December 6th. Any family that is interested in getting their child's school picture retaken OR your child was not at school when the original pictures were taken is welcome to take advantage of this opportunity.
Lifetouch is not sending home paper flyers, so please see the digital flyer attached below. Families can order student pictures online at https://my.lifetouch.com/ using the Picture Day ID EVTWB66PX
PTA Penguin Patch Holiday Shop
The PTA Penguin Patch Holiday Store is a fun way for students to shop for family members and experience the spirit of giving while learning to earn, budget and save! This event will be going to be held during the school day on December 11th, 12th, and 15th. If anyone would like to volunteer, please reach out to JessRDHNYC@gmail.com. Any volunteer will have needed to complete Mr. Barrette's Volunteer Training and have an up to date BCI on file.
PTA General Meeting on Thursday, 12/7 at 6:00 PM
The OCRS PTA has a general membership meeting scheduled for this week on Thursday, 12/7 at 6:00 PM in the OCRS Media Center. We encourage parents/guardians to attend PTA meetings in-person.
