Budget process for 2019-20
The budget process is especially difficult this year in Smithfield. Keep up with the process by visiting the finance page of the district website. Please take a moment to view the slides presented at the January 22nd budget workshop, http://bit.ly/2T9VwY9. The potential staffing cuts outlined in the presentation could have wide ranging impacts across the school district, including at OCRS. We will continue to keep families informed as the process progresses.
Farewell to Mrs. Sutherland
As you know, Mrs. Sutherland's last day at OCRS is this Wednesday, 1/30. If you have a chance, I'm sure that Mrs. Sutherland would love to hear from families before she leaves at ssutherland@smithfield-ps.org. Our new School Nurse, Mrs. Forte, will be starting later in February, once the new School Nurse for Raymond LaPerche School is ready to start. We are working with the district to ensure that we have nursing coverage until then.
