Hello OCRS families,

I hope that all of our students and their families are healthy and have been enjoying the first two weeks of July!

Return to School Family Forum

I know that you have been receiving weekly updates from Dr. Paolucci about the district's planning for the reopening of school. However, I did want to make sure that all OCRS families were aware of the 2nd "Return to School" Family Forum being held tomorrow evening online at 7:00 p.m.  You can join the online forum via the following information:

Via an internet connected device: https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/813375837
Via telephone: 1-877-568-4106, Access Code: 813-375-837

In preparation for this Family Forum, families are invited to submit questions via online form at https://forms.gle/x14o2Sw94RTgQLNT8. The questions focus on three reopening challenges; transportation, physical distancing in classrooms, and access to distance learning when the expectation is for a physical return to school.

"Grab and Go" meals extended to August 21st

The Grab and Go Meals program has been extended to August 21, 2020. A number of families are currently experiencing food insecurity due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Free, "grab and go" lunches will be available for pick-up Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Smithfield High School, 90 Pleasant View Avenue. EVERYONE 18 years of age and younger is eligible to receive a free "grab and go" lunch and a breakfast. Parents may also pick up meals for children in their family that are not with them. On Fridays, meals will be distributed for the weekend, one lunch and one breakfast per day, for each child.

In addition to the communications from Dr. Paolucci, I will make sure to share the latest information with OCRS families as soon as it is available. Please keep an eye on your email, as well as on the OCRS website "News" page at https://oldcounty.smithfield-ps.org/news and OCRS Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/OldCountyRoadSchool/.

Thanks,
Mr. Barrette
